When people tell stories, remnants of memories surface, often revealing secrets or untold events. Ranging from fact to fantasy, the stories inspire a way of seeing other worlds. Past and present converge in new territory. I am compelled to bring that to life.

Pamela is a visual artist generating her work via multiple disciplines; spanning site-specific installation, audio/video, public projects, mixed media, and photography. She is inspired by myths from ancient cultures, literary sources and folklore. Some of her projects evolve through engagement with communities; exploring identity, memory, time and place. She seeks ways to connect people to one another, while constructing a new understanding of our place in time. Pamela has created site-specific work for a variety of settings, from public spaces, non-profit venues, museums, galleries, and private homes.

Pamela has received a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, Artists Space Special Projects Grant, NYC, Broadway Windows Project Grant, NYC, Sculpture Space Artist Residency, NY, Ohio Arts Council Artists and Communities Grant, Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture Fellowship, Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award, and CIA Faculty Development Grant.

Collections include the Progressive Corporation, Peter B. Lewis Aquatic Center/Menorah Park Foundation, Hospice of the Western Reserve, Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation, KA Architects, MBNA, and private collections (see WORKS).

She has collaborated with designers and architects on projects for The Children's Museum, NYC, Thomas Jefferson Foundation, Charlottesville, VA, American Movie Classics, Connoisseur Magazine, NYC, Aoki Studio/TV and Film, Lake Placid Winter Olympics, and others.

In the 1980's, she lived in NYC where her studio was located in a gutted brownstone studio without heat. In the winter months she would wear insulated wool gloves with rubber grips and multiple layers of clothing. The building had no ceilings, but a clerestory up to the roof welcomed natural light into the entire space. Her early exhibitions were in alternative spaces; the Brooklyn Army Terminal, El Bohio Cultural Center, PS I, and Storefront for Art and Architecture. Simultaneously, she created props, sets and models for television, film and architectural projects.

From 1991 - 1993 Pamela created and directed the International Studio in Budapest, Hungary. She developed unique kinesthetic strategies, teaching art to adults and children from four different continents. Upon her return to the United States, Pamela taught Art Integration in the Dept., of Education and Allied Studies, John Carroll University, and held two artist residencies at the Cleveland Institute of Art Sculpture Department. She established the KidsArt program for K-10 children, participated in Young Audiences artist residencies, and was an instructor/curator at St. Ignatius School. She is the co-founder of JUiCYHEADS, an online magazine established in 2011. Pamela attended Ohio University, receiving a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1979.

WomenCinemakers Berlin 2018 Biennale Edition featured an inspirational interview about her video MUSE.
